Nicholas Dean, charge d'affaires of US Embassy in Bangladesh, has underscored the need for developing leadership qualities among students to bridge the gap between leaders and common people.
Nicholas was addressing as the keynote speaker at the opening ceremony of a training program entitled 'Building Bridges through Leadership Training' (BBLT) organized by Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC) at a hotel in the port city on Thursday.
US Embassy in Dhaka supported the 7th four-month BYLC Training Program.

Attaching importance to leadership training, Nicholas said a lot of skills are required to become a leader who can bring about positive change to the society and serve the nation. However, BYLC's unique leadership curriculum will shape up the participants' future in a positive way, he hoped.
Founder and President of BYLC Ejaj Ahmad, Director Ivdad Ahmed Khan Mojlish and Chief Executive of Young Power in Social Action Arifur Rahman also spoke on the occasion.
Ejaj Ahmad called upon the new generation to dream about doing welfare of others. A total of 40 students were selected from over 100 institutions for the program.
The students will undergo a four-month leadership training and then apply their learning to community service projects set for the betterment of impoverished community in Chittagong.
