Building Bridges through Leadership Training (BBLT), a four-month long leadership development program offered by Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC), aims to equip young people with teamwork, communication, problem solving and leadership skills to bring about positive change in society.
The curriculum for this four-month long program is highly interactive and draws heavily on leadership courses taught at Harvard University’s Center for Public Leadership. It is based on the most recent youth leadership theories and has been adapted in the context of Bangladesh. The program will competitively select 42 students and develop their skills in:

Organizer: Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC) was established as a premier leadership institute in Bangladesh in January 2009. BYLC exists to create a more inclusive, tolerant and just society by training the next generation of home-grown leaders.
Instructor of Leadership: Ejaj Ahmad, Master in Public Policy, Harvard University (USA); MA Economics, University of St. Andrews (Scotland); has extensive experience in leadership development and previously worked as a consultant in different projects of the World Bank, UNDP and Bangladesh Government.
Facilitators of Leadership: Experienced and trained facilitators will work as mentors to the participants during the training program.
Program Duration: The program is divided into two phases. The first one and a half months of in-class leadership training will equip the participants with leadership, problem solving and teamwork skills. Over the next two and a half months, participants will translate their newly acquired skills into action by implementing service oriented projects in a local community.

Eligibility: Any student studying or having completed HSC, A’level or Alim is eligible to apply (first and second year university students are also eligible). There are no minimum grade/GPA requirements.
Tuition Fee: There is no tuition fee for the program. Full scholarship will be provided to the participants by BYLC. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be awarded a certificate of achievement.
Miscellaneous: Program is co-ed. Requires field trips around the city for volunteering in community service. Program participants will be divided into groups of six and each group will have their own mentor. The mentor will be with the group at all times to ensure its proper education and safety.
BBLT 9 & 10 admissions is designed into three folds:

Please note that each “Round” represents a successive step for admission, and not a distinct period in which one may apply. Round 1 admissions will close at midnight (12:00 am) on July 24, Tuesday. No applications received after the given time period will be accepted. Only shortlisted candidates from round 1 will be invited for round 2 and further shortlisted candidates from round 2 will be invited for round 3.
